About Prog For Peart

Prog For Peart was founded in the sad aftermath of the Jan 2020 loss of Neil Peart, drummer for Canadian band Rush. Neil Peart, or The Professor, to the cognoscenti, is widely accepted as one of the greatest rock drummers of the modern era. Prog For Peart 2024 will be the fourth year of the festival.
He sadly died of a fatal form of brain cancer called Glioblastoma Multiforme or GBM. A not much known disease but one which takes the lives of around 200,000 people worldwide each year and 5,000 in the UK alone. Typical life expectancy from diagnosis is 14mths. Prog For Peart proudly tries to raise money to contribute to the fight to end the suffering this disease causes by donating all profits from the festival to the Headcase Cancer Trust. A UK charity who focus ONLY on this form of the disease and are helping fund very promising research at Nottingham Trent University. Headcase Cancer Trust is a charity registered in England & Wales Charity Number 1140061 Prog For Peart is not directly related to HCT in any way & simply donates its profits to the charity for their dispersal to cancer research organisations.
